Privacy, in plain language
Vespiary stores exactly what it needs to match you, and nothing else. This page is the whole policy — if it ever grows fine print, that will be a story in itself.
What we store
- Your email, a hashed password (we can't read it), and any social-login ID if you use one.
- Your quiz answers, the answers you'd accept in others, and how important each is to you.
- Your bio, and — only if you add it — a city label and ZIP used to compute distances. Never an address, never a location pin, never tracking of where you go.
- Scores computed from the above: match percentages, consistency, bubble.
Who sees what
- Your profile shows your scores and bubble to other members. Question-by-question answers follow the visibility you pick in Settings (public / people you share questions with / nobody).
- Location is shown as a city label only, and only if you opt into people search.
- Figure and school profiles are reconstructions from published sources — not accounts.
What we never do
- Sell or rent your data. Run third-party ad trackers. Create fake members.
- Email you anything except account mail (like password resets) unless you ask us to.
Your exit
Settings has a one-click delete everything: account, answers, scores — gone, not archived. Questions about any of this: ask in the open on the Vespiary forum.
Terms, briefly
Be 18+. Be a real person with one account. Don't scrape other members' belief data, don't harass people you've matched with, and don't post other people's answers elsewhere as if they were yours to share. Matching is a measurement, not a promise — what you do with a 94% match is your business and your responsibility.
